Let's talk about justice

Hello Maggie Hello and welcome back to Soul Food, a delivery of nourishment to your inbox six days a week throughout the season of Lent.

Every Thursday, we’ll be focusing on justice-seeking. Each week, Holly Adams from Salisbury Methodist Church and who works on the Connexional Team, will speak to a different person from around the world and hear a story about a social justice project they are involved in.

The stories are inspiring examples of the many ways Methodists are involved in transformational work, and a challenge to all of us to be agents of change in our own communities.

Today Holly is joined by Pastor Tomas from Venezuela, sharing about the Barinas 55 corner shop project, and considering how the work feeds both the bodies and souls of the communities involved.

Questions to ponder today:

What community or justice-seeking activity might you be invited to engage with during this Lenten season?

How might you use this season as a time for blessing others or engaging in social justice work, as well as your own spiritual growth?

The work of the Barinas 55 Shop that Pastor Tomas talks about is, in part, funded by donations made to the World Mission Fund. Find out more and donate here.

Every blessing,

The Soul Food team.
