Let's Talk: Keep Your Strength and Your Health
Staying active throughout your life can help you stay strong, independent and reduce your risk of falls in later life. It's never too late to start and every little helps! In last month's Let's Talk, Wabz, a physiotherapist from Whittington Health Falls team shared some useful truths and some quick wins. He also talked about ways to improve strength and balance. Managing in the heat
With temperatures set to rise again next week, it's a good time to remember how important it is to stay safe in the heat.
This week, Age UK Islington volunteers enjoyed a cooler evening catching up with staff and fellow volunteers in the Manor Gardens garden (click below for photos!).
At June's Let's Talk event, Age UK Islington handed out Summer Heatwave Packs, while the Public Health team shared advice on staying cool and information about Cool Spaces in Islington.
The University of Exeter is also inviting Londoners to take part in a research project by sharing photos of how hot weather affects everyday life. AGE UK ISLINGTON GET TOGETHERS

Park Cuppa Special Edition - 'Love Letters to Cally Park' Wednesday 29 July, 11am-12pm Cally Clock Tower Centre, Caledonian Park, N7 9H Join us to share your memories of Cally Park, or find out more about its history, and be part of the Love Letters to Cally Park project. The stories will be displayed as 'postcards' at the Cally Clock Tower festival in August with the longer-term aim of bringing them together in a book.
