Climate change presents huge challenges, but
there is still room for hope. We have partnered with Cambridge University’s
Cambridge Zero team to offer three inspiring talks at Milton Road Library. Join
us to learn about positive innovations and actions addressing climate change
today. The talks are free and will be followed by Q&A and discussion.

March is
Women’s History Month, and 8th March isInternational Women’s Day. To mark the occasion, you can join us
at Cambridge Central Library on Saturday 8th March at 2.30pm for a Women's History Month Pop-Up Book Group. We’ll be discussing some of our
favourite books by and about inspiring women!
You can also
browse the library catalogue and keep an eye out for displays at
your local library to find a wide range of books celebrating women’s
contributions to history and the struggle for gender equality.

Secrets and Suspense with Alison Stockham
Fans of suspenseful fiction will love meeting bestselling
author Alison Stockham. Alison is an engaging speaker who will let you into
some of her mystery writing secrets as she introduces her latest psychological
thriller, The Man She Married.
Meet Your Local Children’s Authors at Cambridge Central Library
Come along to Central Library to meet local authors of books for
children and young people! You’ll be able to chat with local authors and buy
their books or art prints.
The library will close for refurbishment from
Monday 24th March for approximately three months. Our facilities will be enhanced, library space will expand creating a brand new
children’s library and there will be increased opening hours through open access technology.
There will also be a mobile library at the Hub carpark in
Cambourne on Saturdays 26th April, 24th May and 28th June
from 10am-4pm
Thanks to Cambourne Parish Council we will also be able to
hold rhyme and story time sessions at the Blue Space in Cambourne on Fridays
from 25th April from 9.30 to 10am.
All return
dates will be extended throughout the closure period- items can be
returned to any Cambridgeshire library, or mobile library

start? Join us to untangle this complex topic and discover what actions you can
take to help make a difference in your local organisation or community by
becoming Carbon Literate.
Understand the scale of the
challenge then create a personal action plan, tailored to your local area. The
training is delivered by Groundwork
East for Cambridgeshire Skills and is certified by the Carbon Literacy Project
Training to be held at Ely Library, Friday 21st March, 9am – 5pm. Free, but places are limited so
advance booking is essential.

Radio Teleswitch Service Switch-Off
Some
households and businesses in England use Radio Teleswitch electricity meters to
run heating and hot water. It’s also known as an RTS meter. The radio signal
that controls RTS meters is going to be switched off from 30th June
and may impact some homes and businesses in Cambridgeshire.
If you have an RTS meter at home, please contact your energy provider as soon as possible.
17-23 March is Neurodiversity
Celebration Week, a worldwide celebration of the strengths and
talents of neurodivergent people. To mark the occasion, on Saturday 22 March
(2.30-4pm) we’re hosting a drop-in session at Cambridge Central Library where
you can explore our neurodivergent friendly
resources and share your thoughts and experiences with our friendly staff.
We would love to introduce you to a fantastic, free
opportunity to participate in Street Tag, where you can turn everyday movement
into points, rewards, and fun! This event is funded by Cambridgeshire and
Peterborough Combined Authority.
Street Tag is a free app that turns your community into a
virtual playground - earn points by walking, running, cycling or rolling in a
wheelchair to collect virtual tags. It’s a fun and interactive way to boost
your physical activity and connect with your community!
Enjoy some of the best of the Bard at your library in
Shakespeare Week (24-30 March) and throughout the year.
National Theatre Collection 3 includes recordings of Anthony
and Cleopatra, As You Like It, Much Ado About Nothing and Othello, filmed
as stage productions. Watch these plays and more on a library computer or your
own device while using library WiFi – it's all completely free. Find a choice
