Climate Action in Education

Climate Education logo

In 2022, The Department for Education announced their Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy.

Climate Education has been developed in consultation with educators to ensure a whole-school approach to meeting the DfE’s requirements. It offers a single dashboard with tools for creating, tracking, and refining Climate Action Plans aligned with decarbonisation, biodiversity, resilience, and climate education. With just one click you’ll have access to lesson plans, tailored resources, and regular funding and news updates to support all your climate actions, empowering schools to contribute meaningfully to sustainability efforts while saving time through this one-stop green hub.

These webinars will enable schools to find out about what the expectations are, what this means to them and the impacts. It will give you an introduction to how Climate Education is supporting schools on their individual journey no matter where your starting point is.

Invitation to participate in teacher wellbeing research

The 'Building Connections' study is exploring teachers’ experiences of working with students with persistently challenging behaviour. We are seeking teachers, working in schools in England, to participate in a questionnaire study. Participants must be able to think of one student they currently teach, who they would identify as presenting with persistently challenging behaviour and who does not have a diagnosis of ASD. The study involves completing three online questionnaires (<20 minutes each) over the course of this academic year. Participants will be sent a £5 thank you voucher for each completed survey. For more details, contact Dr Laura Oxley education-building-connections@york.ac.u-

“Did you know that 65% of children born today will work in jobs that don't even exist yet”…. How crazy is that!

So in light of this crazy statistic, we just wanted to make you aware that we are giving a **FREE* online school talk for ‘Green Careers Week’ on Friday 8 November at 9.15am. The event is advertised nationally by ‘STEM Learning UK’ and you can sign up through Scout’s QR code below. Please feel free to share to other teachers, schools and your network. To find out more about our books and project visit our website here: www.the3engineers.com

During the talk we hope to inspire children through Scout’s adventures and then give a talk about engineering and the kinds of careers this could lead to. What a great way to link STEM subjects and start that conversation towards future careers.
