Addressing the rise of parent complaints

A recent TES report reveals 90% of school leaders believe complaints-handling is severely impacting staff wellbeing. This concern is echoed across our schools. In response, leaders are urged to act: promote prevention, audit current practices, and invest in staff training and development. Schools who attend this course will also receive a comprehensive toolkit of resources, including template letters and scripted responses. To build confidence and resilience, sign up for the Dealing with Challenging Parents course (under the Developing Leadership Courses tab), delivered virtually on 7 November (9.30-11.00am) by the Leadership Advisers. Let’s equip our teams to manage difficult conversations with professionalism and care.

Letters of assurance and guidance on professional visitors to schools

Please find at this link a generic letter of assurance which covers all CCC Education staff who may visit your school or setting in the course of their professional duties. We do not provide individually named letters of assurance for such staff. However, this letter confirms that any such member of staff visiting your school in a professional capacity will have undergone all the appropriate pre-employment and vetting checks which are required for the role.

Please see this link to a generic letter of assurance which covers CCC Children’s Social Care and Targeted Support staff who may visit your school in the course of their professional duties. Not all education staff who may visit your school work in regulated activity. Therefore, any Education staff who may be required to work in regulated activity will provide you with an individual letter of assurance to confirm the appropriate level of DBS has been undertaken to enable them to work unsupervised if required.

You can find our guidance on professional visitors to schools here: CCC Guidance on Professional Visitors to Schools (Sept 2025)

If you have any queries about these letters or guidance, please contact Phil Nash or Sara Rogers.
