Looking after someone - support for carers | Cambridgeshire County Council contains comprehensive information about services and support available to family carers in Cambridgeshire. There is a new online tool – Bridgit – providing resources to help carers to look after themselves. Carers can also contact the local charity Caring Together for support.

Connection Starts Here: Join Us This Loneliness Awareness Week

This Loneliness Awareness Week (10th–16th June), Cambridgeshire Libraries are proud to support the national theme: Meeting Loneliness Together. It's a reminder that loneliness is something we all experience—and talking about it is the first step to feeling more connected.

Our libraries are welcoming, inclusive spaces where small moments can lead to meaningful connections. Join a regular group, try one of our events, or simply enjoy a quiet moment amongst others. You’ll also find books that can support your health and wellbeing such as the Reading Well collections, carefully selected to support mental health and wellbeing.

If you can’t get to us, our Library at Home Service can bring books—and conversation—right to your door.

Whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth, you’re always welcome.

Volunteers' Week

Thank you, Volunteers. #volunteersweek with relevant logo.

Celebrate Volunteers’ Week: Thank You for Making a Difference

This Volunteers’ Week (1st–7th June), we’re celebrating the amazing people who give their time and energy to make Cambridgeshire Libraries such special places. From shelving books and running events to delivering to housebound readers through our Library at Home Service, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.

Their support helps create welcoming, vibrant spaces where everyone can connect, learn and thrive.

Thinking of getting involved? Volunteering with Cambridgeshire Libraries is a great way to meet people, learn new skills, and give back to your community. One exciting way to help this summer is by becoming a Summer Reading Challenge volunteer—a brilliant opportunity for young people (aged 13+) to support children’s reading and gain valuable experience.

To all of our volunteers: thank you. You truly make a difference.
