Shelterbox
A family collecting aid

Thank You for Making an Impact

As a valued member of the ShelterBox community, you've helped us respond to emergencies around the world and supported families when they need it most.

Whether you've volunteered, shared our work with others, been part of our Book Club, attended an event, helped spread awareness, or simply started a conversation about ShelterBox, every action plays a part.

Thanks to supporters like you, in the last year alone we've provided emergency shelter and essential aid to more than 231,000 people across 17 countries affected by earthquakes, storms, floods, drought and conflict.

And here are just a few stories of the people you've helped.

Hussein’s Story: Fleeing from Yemen

For Hussein and like many other displaced families around the world, fleeing was both the hardest and the most unavoidable decision to make.

Life was hard for Hussein and his family. They suddenly had no income, all 8 of them lived in a flimsy tent.

Thanks to your support and along with our local partnership we listened to the lived experiences, like Hussein and made improvements and changes to their temporary shelter.

Kyu Kyu Win’s Story: After the Myanmar Earthquake

In March 2025, an earthquake hit Myanmar, with one million people being forced from their homes. Kyu Kyu Win was one of these people whose home was destroyed. Her and children were inside, terrified for their lives. Afterwards, they were left without any kind of shelter. With your support, we and our partner gave local carpenters timber and roofing materials to help rebuild Kyu Kyu Win’s home.

“I was almost moved to tears when they told me my name was on the list.”

Venezuela Earthquake Update

We are now working with Rotary in Venezuela and our local partner to carry out rapid needs and damage assesments.

Rotary members are looking at how they might support with importing aid as soon as we are confident about what aid items people need. They have also offered the team accommodation and provided translation services. Rotary partners have been very generous in their offers of practical support for further stages of the response.

In our meetings we are contstantly reminded of the enormity of the impact of the earthquakes. Not least from Venezuelan Rotaractor, Daniel Zavala, who shares this heartfelt message.
