The resource also provides guidance on working with elected members during an incident. National recruitment campaignThe LGA’s flagship Make a difference: work for your local council recruitment campaign has received funding from the UK Government to run again as part of the Sector Support Offer 2025/26. This will build on the success of the previous year’s campaign, which saw two-thirds of councils access the campaign toolkit and saw applications to council jobs increase each month across the campaign’s period, with the greatest increase achieved in January 2025. We will continue to engage with councils to shape the campaign in the upcoming year, and are working closely with regional employer organisations to plan opportunities to participate in the campaign’s development. New promotional materials will be produced including some targeted at young people, alongside a refreshed toolkit to help tailor the campaign to individual councils and their needs.
