Spotlight: LGA ADPH Annual Public Health Conference

Our spotlight event this month is the LGA/ ADPH Annual Public Health Conference 2026 taking place on 24-26 February.

This key annual public health conference will bring together leaders, practitioners, and partners to explore how we can achieve better health for all. With expert insights and practical examples from across the country, the event will highlight the vital role of local government and its partners in shaping healthier communities.

The packed programme will feature a range of sessions on key public health themes, from prevention and early intervention to tackling the wider determinants of health and neighbourhoods. Delegates will hear the latest thinking from national leaders and gain valuable learning from those delivering innovative approaches on the ground.

Delivered by the Local Government Association in partnership with the Association of Directors and Public Health, this well-established event provides a unique opportunity for the public health community to come together, take stock and plan for the future.

LGA perceptions survey

Each year, the LGA invites a representative sample of our members to share their views on how we are doing in our role as the national voice of local government. Your feedback is vital in helping us understand what’s working well, where we can improve, and how we can best support councils across England.

To ensure the research is fully independent, we have commissioned M·E·L Research, an external research organisation, to carry out this survey of councillors and officers. If selected, you may receive an email invitation or a call from a member of the M·E·L Research team. Please look out for an email titled ‘Can you take a few minutes to share your views on the Local Government Association?’.
