Dear colleague
Happy New
Year!
As we start
2026, I'm reminded that investing in your own professional
development isn't just beneficial, it's an act of
professionalism. So why not make it your New Year's resolution?
We have three
exceptional conferences to kick-start your year, and I'm particularly excited
about the calibre of speakers we've secured. If you're keen to focus on
literacy and oracy, especially during the National Year of Reading 2026,
then our
conference at the British Library on 22 January is the perfect place
to start. We're thrilled to have Professor Teresa Cremin as our keynote,
recently awarded a CBE in the New Year Honours for her services to Education,
alongside Geoff Barton, Marc Rowland, Nisha Tank from the National Literacy
Trust, and many other inspiring practitioners.
For those focused on inclusion and SEND, our Pastoral Conference on 29 January in
Manchester couldn’t be more timely. With the SEND White
Paper due early this year Margaret Mulholland will be hosting what
promises to be an essential day for inclusion leads.
Our Data Leader
and Accountability Conference on the 5 February in London is also perfectly timed.
Coming after a wave of expected policy announcements, this popular event will
provide the clarity you need around curriculum and
assessment reforms to plan for the year ahead, with practical
insights from fellow practitioners on using data to support school
improvement.
I hope to see
you at one of these events very soon, here’s to making 2026 the year we
truly prioritise our professional development.
Best
wishes
