ASCL Professional Development News

First-class CPD, leadership and career development

9 July 2026

Dear colleague

As one year closes, the next begins.

In the last newsletter I promised I'd share some of what the autumn term has in store, so before the summer break, here is that first look, in good time to get the key dates in your diary.

This autumn, ASCL is offering a comprehensive programme of professional development opportunities for school and trust leaders. Our reimagined Leadership Essentials conferences will take place across four larger venues, bringing together leaders for expert insight on major education reforms, discussion and practical workshops, including a dedicated breakout session for independent school leaders. Alongside these events, longer-term programmes will support trust CEOs, headteachers, sixth form leaders and those with responsibility for education estates, providing opportunities for collaboration, reflection and leadership growth.

Leaders can also access a range of focused one-day courses covering enrichment, timetable construction and inspection preparation, as well as online learning on improving teaching and learning with Jade Pearce. In addition, ASCL will host specialist conferences for data and accountability leaders, digital leaders and colleagues in Northern Ireland. Further CPD opportunities on difficult conversations, SEND and safeguarding are currently being developed, alongside a new webinar series exploring themes emerging from the People and Culture Conference.

Have a wonderful summer when it comes and we look forward to seeing you in September.

Best wishes
