New children's comic highlights learning disability nursing

The University of Salford is leading a project exploring learning disability nurses’ perspectives on NMC registration and its implications for students and people with learning disabilities.

As part of the project, digital artist Noah Joe and expert by experience Aaron Hume co-created a comic for children aged 11 and over. Based on research findings, the comic uses creative storytelling to raise awareness of learning disability nursing. Two versions feature different characters, reflecting diverse identities while sharing the same story.
